Tattoo Aftercare Without Second Skin

After tattooing
•Tattoo is wrapped in cling film
• Leave the cling film on for 3–4 hours after your tattoo is finished.
Cleaning
• Remove the cling film and wash the tattoo gently with lukewarm water.
• Clean the area carefully with damp kitchen roll.
• Pat dry with fresh kitchen roll and let it air dry.
• Once completely dry, rewrap with fresh cling film.
Wrapping (first night only)
• Before going to bed, repeat the cleaning process and rewrap in cling film.
• This helps prevent the tattoo from sticking to bedsheets overnight.
• In the morning, repeat the cleaning process, then you no longer need to wrap it again.
Moisturising
• It usually takes 1–2 days before the tattoo starts to feel dry and tight.
• Once it does, begin applying a thin layer of unscented cocoa butter or other tattoo-safe cream.
Healing time
• Tattoos generally heal within 1–2 weeks, but everyone’s skin is different.

Tattoo Aftercare With Second Skin

After tattooing
• Your tattoo has been covered with a breathable second skin film.
• Keep this first layer on for 3–4 days.
After 3–4 days
• Carefully peel off the film under warm running water.
• Wash the tattoo gently with lukewarm water or in the shower using unscented soap.
• Pat dry with fresh kitchen roll and let it air dry.
After removing the film
• Let the tattoo breathe and do not reapply film.
• When the tattoo starts to feel dry and tight (usually after 1–2 days), begin applying a thin layer of unscented cocoa butter or other tattoo-safe cream.
Healing time
• Tattoos generally heal within 1–2 weeks, but everyone’s skin is different.
